A Jan. 25 extradition hearing has been set for real-estate scion Robert Durst, who is accused of butchering his next-door neighbor in Galveston, Texas.

The session will be held in Easton, Pa., before Northampton County Common Pleas Judge Robert Freedberg.

“I expect it will last an hour and the judge will sign an order sending Durst back to Texas that day,” said John Morganelli, the Northampton County district attorney.

Morganelli said he hadn’t received any word from Durst’s lawyers that he will fight extradition by claiming insanity – as earlier reports claimed.

The DA also said it was possible the millionaire developer might waive extradition.

Durst, under a cloud of suspicion in the disappearance of his first wife, Kathie, almost 20 years ago, is accused of beheading and dismembering his 71-year-old neighbor, Morris Black.

After his Oct. 9 arrest, Durst jumped bail and spent seven weeks on the lam, the last two in a motel in Bethlehem, Pa. – 85 miles west of New York City – where he attended college.

He was arrested on Nov. 30 after trying to shoplift a $5.99 hero sandwich at a local supermarket.

On Wednesday night, he got a jailhouse visit from his second wife, Debrah Lee Charatan, whom he secretly married on Dec. 11, 2000.

Durst was unshaven and appeared emotionless during the visit, said family members of other inmates.
