Cross-dressing millionaire Robert Durst will go on trial May 12 on charges of beheading and dismembering an elderly man in Galveston, Texas.

The presiding judge, Susan Criss, set the date yesterday, also announcing she will hold a hearing on whether to allow cameras in the courtroom.

Durst, 59, a scion of the Durst real-estate fortune, is accused of murdering Morris Black, 71, his next-door neighbor in Galveston. Durst admits he killed Black, but claims it was self-defense.
